Islam stands for peace, love and human dignity and there is no room for terrorism in Islam. This was stated by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, in a power speech to a gathering of thousands of British Muslims at the Global Peace & Unity event on Sunday 23 October 2010. www.minhaj.org Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri started his passionate and powerful speech by declaring that Islam stands for peace, love, compassion, human dignity and mercy. He said “Islam does not stand for any kind of violence, militancy, terrorism, and brutality.” He said “This is Islam which came at a time when the dignity of mankind was lost, there was brutality, violence and people were cutting their necks. At that time there was racial, religious and tribal discrimination and there was no respect for slaves. At that time Islam stood up for the poor and oppressed people, orphans, and women and gave respect and dignity to the mankind irrespective of their race, religion and culture. This is Islam which came for promotion of global peace and mercy and dignity.” He said “I want to communicate this message of Islam to the whole mankind. People have misled the youth by wrong perceptions and interpretations of Islam.” == “Jihad: Perception and reality” == Speaking about “Jihad: Perception and reality”, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the perception that Jihad is a holy war is completely wrong and younger generation has been misled on this count. Kids love leaves! we know not everybody has trees or leaves (or Fall!) where they live, so we wanted to share a peaceful Fall wish with you! Trees don’t ask for anything Happy earth day, Mother earth!!! We started our global peace project in Fall. All the childrens’ favorite thing about Fall was the leaves. But the children have also been studying about permaculture and ecology and the lack of water in Burkina faso, and they also understand how important trees are to the whole world. We wanted to make a panorama so you could feel what it was like to be here, playing in the leaves. The children drew their outlines on the picture (parts of it got destroyed: it was much larger originally, big enough to go all around a room) They made leaves and trees out of their hands outlines. The children hid messages to our friends who will get the exchange (wherever that may be!) all throughout the painting, messages of peace and fun (look for the word chocolate hidden somewhere and “Its raining peace” raindrops. The children made up the songs music and sounds and rhythms, ( listen for the gentle dropping sounds, then the howling wind) then they wrote words that captured how they felt about trees and peace and the world, to send their message of peace to you (partially colored by Shel Silversteins sad book about a giving tree: curse you, Shel Silverstein!) There are really no leaf-blowers around here, but we hope people everywhere will consider not using them: its really more fun to
